Wimbledon Night - Tennis Clinic and Social
June 23, 2010 - (Charlottetown, PEI) – Charlottetown Tennis Club is pleased to host the first tennis clinic and social of the year on Monday, June 28th from 6:30pm – 9:30pm at Victoria Park Tennis Courts. The evening will start with a tennis clinic followed by a round robin tournament and social.
New president of the club Tracey Allen is looking forward to a successful year for recreational tennis saying, “We have had a steady growth of tennis players in the last year and we expect to continue to increase our membership to 100 by the end of summer. With new immigrants bringing their love of the sport to the Island, former tennis/returning players, and adults getting more active, we hope to attract a number of people to come play with us.”
Allen believes there are more adult players out there that previously played tennis and would like to again stating, “for former tennis players afraid their skill level has dropped, the Charlottetown Tennis Club is the perfect place to start, as we have all level of players and programs through Tennis in the Park that will have you up to speed in no time. Come see me at our Wimbledon Night and we can talk about getting you back into the game.”
The Charlottetown Tennis Club is a non-profit, outdoor, community tennis club operating out of the Victoria Park courts from mid May through October. The club uses 3 to 5 of the 8 lit courts during weeknight evenings to offers a variety of tennis activities including leagues, round robins and socials. The membership of $64 provides a fun, affordable way to be involved in the tennis community and also includes a Tennis PEI www.tennispei.ca membership with its benefits, a value of $25.
